Summary : This project addresses the issue of food wastage particularly in the
case of hotel restaurants and buffets. To reduce unnecessary wastage, 'Last
Order' creates a real-time food market, which enables hotels to extend the
potential of good quality food and enlarge their regular clientele. 'Last Order' uses
Android Platform, Google Cloud Messaging (GCM), Google Maps Geo-location,
as well as Amazon Web Services to connect businesses with customers. The
application delivers real-time information about immediate and time limited
gourmet promotions. After the application is installed, any promotion pushed by
a business will be made available to app-users within a distance specified in the
'Last Order' has been designed to match needs of the gastronomy sector in
Singapore, its concept however, is scalable and bears potential for other service
PlugFest Asia : Last-Order was developed for the PlugFest Asia, a programming competition created by Google Developer Group (GDG) Singapore and IEEE Computer Society Singapore.
Last Order won the "most socially impactful" award and the third place in the open category of PlugFest.
